Kidepo national park

Kidepo national park is located in kaboog district in Northern Uganda.its told that the distance covered from Kampala to Kidepo National park is 700kilometers by road making 9hours by drive.

 KIDEPO national park has two seasons which contains dry and wet seasons in the years.the park has the best season to visit it which is well known to be in dry season.

  During dry season the tourists are capable and able to see the most attractive animals like giraffe,buffaloes, bush pigs and ostriches which is well known to be the most attracting animals in the park .

  The park is well known to have the most mammals which would be making a total of 77 mammals like giraffe, buffalo, elephants.

  • Apoka tourism Hub; due to kidepo National park being the most attractive park to has developed the hub for tourists which contain sculptures for animals which gives the clear information of the park.

        NATURE WALK: During nature walk in kidepo National park you a provided by the security guard and an armed guide who will help you to walk on foot and explore within in the park, during nature walk it’s in different categories for example it can be done in Narus valley,kidepo plains which led you to morungole mountains ik people hike to Lomej mountains among others.

    BIRD WATCHING; kidepo National park is a home of beautiful birds which contains more than 500 birds in the park.The park has different birds which include; endemic birds, savanna birdss, migratory birds which makes it the best birding national park

 The birding can also be done during game drive in the morning or afternoon which helps one to see bird species like ostriches and bush durkers.

     CULTURE ENCOUNTERS; kidepo National park gives you an opportunity to interact with new people in the area which include ik group of people.

HIKING ; hiking into Kidepo valley is an opportunity for tourists to explore the beautiful sceneries like sand banks and palm forest, around the valleys of the national park;others tourists with extra adventure go amile to hike kanagoronk hot springs and explore unique nature spa.

    GAME DRIVE; game drive in Kipedo National park is done in different categories for example;

  • Morning game drive:which can be done in morning during 6:00am which gives the tourist to see the animals like elephants,lions and giraffes among others.
  • Evening game drive:it’s normally starts from 2:00pm after lunh, during the ride,the tourist is able to see animals from Narus valley which has permanent sources which attract large concentration of animals during dry seasons.

BEST TIMES TO VISIT 

The park can be visited in the all seasons of the year though the the park experience two seasons during the year.

  The park is always dry in the months of July, August, December, September which gives the clear of game veiwing.during dry season the wildlife gather at the water bodies for water which makes animal views easier.

Kidepo National park can also be visited in low/ wet seasons in months of march and may and November which helps to view and enjoy the park with few crowds and birds of migratory birds.

In Kidepo National park,it provides different categories of Accomodations at fare prices which include; luxury,mid-range and budgeted accomodations.

  Luxury accomodations;

The park has managed to have the edere lodges which provide the best luxury rooms with 17 cottages .it’s few meters from the adge of the national park .the park has the 17 cottages which a the single and double rooms which provide best accomodations.

Mid-range accommodations;

      The park has the best mid-range accommodations called zebra safari Lodge which has provided best rooms for tourist with in the place.it is found in kalukudo village, Karamonja sub region in karenga district.

All in all kidepo is said to be the best among the national park in Uganda which has the good wildlife and species of birds.
