Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park for a boat ride.
Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park, depending on your arrival time on the first day of the 5 Days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari you will be welcomed by your driver guide who will give you briefing about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Mburo national park in western Uganda. The journey takes about 4 to 5 hours. You’ll make a stop over at the Equator to buy souvenirs and take photos. After you will proceed with your journey with incredible views of the landscape until you arrive at the park. Upon your arrival check in your lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will meet your driver guide and go for a magical boat cruise, on Lake Mburo to see buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds like pied and malachite kingfishers, spur winged plover, water thick knee, African finfoot, African darter, and hamerkops. After the boat cruise, you will experience enroute game drive to see buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, and warthogs before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park.
After an early leisurely breakfast on the second day of the 5 Days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari, you will meet your driver guide for a morning game drive to see animals at their most dynamic. Thus, you can see zebras, buffaloes, impalas, topi, waterbucks, bushbucks, elands, warthogs, giant forest hogs, giraffes grazing in savannah plains, leopards, jackals, and hyenas before they go back to their hiding places, and various bird species like black-bellied bustard, African wattled plover, southern red bishop, northern ground hornbill, lapped lark. After the game drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, check out of the lodge and drive to Uganda’s second-largest national park, Queen Elizabeth. Enjoy stunning views of Rwenzori mountain ranges, crater lakes, and tea plantations along the way along the way you will have the lunch enroute. After lunch you will proceed with your journey to the park. Towards the park you’ll travel through the park, seeing elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and more. You will check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight stay.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
On the third day of the 5 Days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari, you will have breakfast early and meet your driver guide for a 6:30 am for morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive, you can see elephants, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, warthogs, and more grazing in the open savannah plains, predators like lions and leopards hunting in the morning, and bird species like red throat spur fowl, martial eagle, African skimmer, grey crowned crane, and yellow throated long crow. Drive to the lodge for lunch after the game drive.
Boat cruise, after lunch you will drive to the landing site near the luxury Mweya safari lodge for a fascinating boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a water body that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. During the 2-hour boat ride, you can take amazing pictures of the scenery, cruise near elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and others drinking water along the lake shores, see large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, and see aquatic bird species like kingfishers, fish eagles, long-tailed cormorants, spur-winged plover, squacco heron, black crake, papyrus gonolek, African jacana, Yellow bellied stork, Egptian goose, Pelicans and among others. After the thrilling boat cruise, your driving guide will take you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Game drive in Ishasha sector and crater lakes.
After breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari, your driving guide will pick you up from the lodge for another game drive in Ishasha sector in the southern section of the park. After arriving in the sector, you will proceed on a game drive to see tree-climbing lions in acacia/fig tree branches, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and more. After the wildlife drive, you’ll have lunch and go to the crater lakes to see locals mining rock salt from Lake Katwe, animals licking the salt, and birds. After exploring the crater lakes, drive to the lodge for dinner and a night.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala.
After a relaxing breakfast on the last day of the 5 Days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide for a short enroute game drive in the park to observe species you missed. You will leave the park after the game drive and drive to Kampala, stopping in Mbarara for lunch before arriving. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport if you have an evening flight or at any convenient location.
